Additional Quality Control Options

Eurofins Genomics performs quality control on every oligo that flows through our state-of-the-art facility, using electrospray ionization (ESI) Mass Spectrometry. In fact, we were the first oligonucleotide company to pioneer 100% MS testing back in 1998. It is provided as a free service to all customers. MS verifies the sequence by molecular weight and provides a visual peak trace for a qualitative measure of quality.

As science evolves, so do our QC capabilities. Growing industrial sectors such as molecular diagnostics and NGS demand higher stringency for quality control due to the sensitivity of equipment and commercial assays. For this reason, we developed additional quality control measures to ensure you always receive the highest quality oligos for analysis. Some options are available through our automated, online ordering system while others should be requested by contacting our Genomics Support team at genomicssupport@eurofins.com.

Online Options for DNA & RNA – Analytical HPLC

HPLC is a popular purification technique but it can also be used to verify the purity of oligos.

Manual Request Options – CE Traces

Capillary electrophoresis (CE) conveys the percentage of full length product. Our technicians run a sample of the material through a gel, which separates it across lengths and truncated product, resulting in a measure of truncated versus full length product. 

Functional Testing
